  8. At the General Assembly in Zagreb 97 it was decided that the CC would be hosted by Deutsche Welle for Three years. This period ended in October 2000. No station came forward with an application, which means that Deutsche Welle will go on.

  9. Presidency
  10. Both president and vice-president want to step down. Since there were no candidates, Reinhard Behm proposed that the participants should write down the name of an attendant they consider suitable for the job. Eva Vikstedt asked if we could postpone the election until the next day: this would allow newcomers to get acquainted.

    1. DR they have no exchange partners within INTERMAG
    2. ORF: Management sent withdrawal quite unexpectedly even for the responsible editors: Reason: high costs. INTERMAG presidency would try to contyct Mr. Hipfl, editor in chief of their new Europa Magazin. He would like to join INTERMAG.
    3. Boulevard Europa/WDR: suspended in March and replaced by Bericht aus Brussel.

(b) Changes among Members: New Titles, Formats, Contacts etc.

  1. Miscellaneous
  1. Promotion INTERMAG
  2. Results of the Working Group: Most of the members of the working broup were not present in Helsinki (Vladimir Spicer), some of them even left INTERMAG (Steffen Gram, Guido Baumhauer, Karin Brans, Katinka Nowotny). The outcome of their action was not very successful: a letter was drawn and sent out to some target programmes but only Katinka Nowotny managed to attract SRG. Mariolina Bronzini brought two RAI programmes in the exchange. It seems that everyone is too busy to seriously tackle the problem of finding new members, consequently it is of no use to establish a new working group or to send out the letter again,. Obviously it is not read. The best way to win new members is to promote INTERMAG via personal contacts.

  3. Functioning of the INTERMAG exchange:

No remarks or suggestions

  1. INTERMAG Programme Exchange System (PES)

ATTENTION: Since February 2001 new address: www.progexsys.org

  1. Questionnaire

The answers revealed three problems:

  1. Lack of equipment: to upload video material a videcard is required, cost: about 300,-- DM (75 €). Still, members with computer and Internet access should be able to upload at least metadata. Gerd Lemmens promised to check with Deutsche Welle if this card couldn’t be provided by the CC. The members should contact their informatics department to assist them with the installation. Also Tecmath could be of some assistance.
  2. Trainig: to tackle this problem a PES-Workshop is scheduled for Saturday morning 9.00.
  3. Lack of Staff: the programmes should try to find a solution, uploading doesn’t take that much time and is quite easy to do.
  1. Remarks of members concerning the PES:
