Draft: Proposed Minutes
1. Opening of the Meeting
Mariolina Bronzini opens the meeting and welcomes Ingrid Thornqvist from SVT attending the meeting as a guest. SVT considers membership.
2. Approval of the „Proposed Minutes“
The proposed Minutes of the General Assembly in Vilnius, September 29-30, 2006 are approved.
3. Election President / Vice-President
The General Assembly decides upon the continuation of the presidency by Mariolina Bronzini and Gerhard Losher.
4. Membership
(a) Leave INTERMAG 2007:
“Panorama” actually is the only MTV magazine with INTERMAG. Demeter Pogar explains that some programmes were stopped due to restructuring. In the future several TV channels will be united in order to reach more viewers and cut costs.
“Panorama” deals with foreign affairs. Next year it will be 50’ long and broadcast on Sunday afternoon.
We are actually 14 members.
(b) Changes::
RAI/”TGR/Europa” changed its name into “Buongiorno Europa” (broadcast every Sunday at 11.15 a.m. on RAI Channel 3).
(c) Promotion:
Latest policy of INTERMAG is to invite Baltic and Scandinavian TV Stations in order to gain new members situated in these regions. Actually Mrs Ingrid Thörnqvist from Swedish TV attends our meeting. She is interested in a network of magazines to exchange reports for the nine o’clock news, which starts with a 2 to 3 minutes summary continuing with a domestic and a foreign/global news part consisting of reports of different lengths but also of live interviews. The programme will be broadcast five days a week. There’s also another current affairs programme in the pipeline which would start middle March and broadcast in primetime with recorded presentations, once a week dealing with one issue seen from different angles. The Swedish programmes can be watched in the Internet. Mrs. Thornqvist brought two items for the screening.
(Meanwhile Swedish TV applied for membership with two programmes: Rapport / Aktuellt)
Mariolina Bronzini reports of a meeting with the director of Estonian TV, Mr. Kuusk that morning. The problem is that they lack a news magazine fit for the exchange. But Mr. Kuusk will join us during the screening. The question came up whether they could join as a broadcaster and offer items of various programmes and use our reports in their news bulletin. Mr. Pogar suggests that they could use INTERMAG material to establish a programme.
Gerd Lemmens shows copies of the new Website updated by Deutsche Welle (www.intermag.tv) with the new logo. The new logo is approved by the attendants.
INTERMAG Leaflet: Gerhard Losher shows what the leaflet could look like and brought an example composed with info and pictures concerning his own programme. (attached)
This handout could even be the address booklet of INTERMAG. Main problem is to gather information from the different members for this leaflet/booklet. Furthermore there could be a problem to get hold of the logo’s and the permission to print them. NDR for instance is very careful with the copyright of their logo.
A graphic design company could be asked to develop this booklet. Then the INTERMAG members should ask permission of their stations to use the pictures and the logo’s after the leaflet has been developed so that it’s clear that there is no misuse of the copyright. In case the graphic departments don’t agree information on the page concerning this programme will be reduced.
Cost would be about 1700 €, VAT included.
The attending members approved the draft and agreed on the production of such a booklet which should preferably be in a format easy to update by the CC.
5. Next Meeting
Since we can organise the meeting wherever we like, we should stay in the northern and eastern part of Europe. Favourites are: Poland, Norway or Latvia. Udo Biss and Mariolina Bronzini will explore possibilities.
