Revised Version, 26 October 2016 of protocol adding note from Dagmar Michel and Kathrin Lemke DW about German Culture Channel.

Opening of the General Assembly

Ingrid Thörnqvist (SVT) welcomed the attendants and especially Gudrun Gutt (ORF) who hopefully could join the Intermag group.

Ingrid Thörnqvist gave the word to our BR host Gerhard Lösher who after this acted as the meetings chairman.

The Minutes of the General Assembly September 18-19, 2015 in Stockholm was approved.

Interested Programs

Gudrun Gutt presented the ORF program “Heute Österreich” as a program where a lot of interesting items could be offered to Intermag.

Another ORF production where topics from around the world are shown is ORF “Welt Journal”. Gerhard Losher mentioned that when ORF last was member of Intermag a lot of material from ORF was used by BR.

Ingrid Thörnqvist mentioned the SVT news series “Det nya Afrika-The New Africa” that shows another side of the continent rather than the cliché of a continent of no hope. “The New Africa” focused on all the innovations and entrepreneurs that are developing in many parts of the continent.

Gerhard told that many German “landessender” are ending their magazine programs and the meeting expressed concerns over this because now more than ever do we need to understand the situation in our home countries and very much so in a fast changing Europe. This is where Intermag can contribute with widening our horizons.

Kathrin Lemke (DW) and Dagmar Michel (DW) informed that the new German Culture Channel which Deutsche Welle will start in March 2017 will probably have one news hour a day. The other programs will be TV magazines and features, exclusively in German language.

Elin Röstad (NRK) told that the foreign current news program Urix will be broadcasted 30minutes 4 times a week

In addition to the traditional offerings on email the online service we all have should be an additional way of checking items. A short explaining text and link could be a way to highlight reports of interest.

Presidency

Ingrid Thörnqvist stays on as President to next meeting 2017, also Elin Röstad as Vice president and Kathrin Lemke as first Vice president.

Allan Tammik continues as Coordinator Center, CC.

The CC takes care of the organization and administration of the meeting, communication with the members, filing the offerings and supervising the address list.

The ACCOUNTING will be dealt by Deutsche Welle.

Dagmar Michel, Deutsche Welle – Fokus Europa takes care of the invoices.

This year the fee of 500 Euro must be paid by all members.

Intermag current economic asset; 7.700 Euro, minus 1.000 Euro in compensation for CC work 2016 that Allan Tammik, CC, not yet has claimed.

Gudrun Gutt will kindly for a second time invite Intermag next meeting to Wien, 29-30 September 2017
